Intro

Franklin Academy - Pembroke Pines has been designated an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School. We are proud to offer the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Years 1, 2 and 3. As a part of an organization that aims to change the world through education, our MYP students will learn more than curriculum content. They will become thoughtful, intentional and active members of our local and global communities, working to make a better world through understanding of their own and others’ cultures, while respecting and appreciating the differences amongst us. IB programmes are highly regarded around the world.

Our MYP Mission Statement:

Utilizing an intercultural-mindedness model and a standards-based curriculum, the mission of Franklin Academy is to create compassionate, engaged, life-long learners by promoting a culture of collaboration and high expectations that emphasizes character development through active service in the local, national and international community, while adhering to the principle that all children can learn.

Service as Action is an important part of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). Each school year, MYP students are expected to complete one Service as Action project per semester. These projects give students the opportunity to help others, get involved in their community, and make a positive difference in the world around them. Please note that Service as Action is part of the student’s grade in their Individuals & Societies class.
